This program is designed for aspiring and current professionals in tourism, hospitality and event management who want a flexible, affordable master’s degree from a top-ranked university. With no GRE score needed, only one letter of recommendation required and three start dates throughout the year, the application and admissions process is developed to be seamless.

How to Apply
Applicants for the online Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management program must submit a Graduate Admissions Application, application fee and required documents, and meet the necessary qualifications.
Academic Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a minimum 3.0 grade point average (GPA).
Work Experience
Two years of industry-related work experience preferred, including internships.
International Applicant
International applicants are required to demonstrate proficiency in written and spoke English. Learn more on our International Students page.
All applicants are required to submit the following materials along with their application to be considered for admission.
Letter of Recommendation
- One letter of recommendation, this can be from a professional or academic resource.
Statement of Purpose
- 1 page, 12-point font
- This statement should explain your purpose for pursuing the degree, your career experience, and your future goals.
Resume
- Your resume should be current and highlight previous professional and academic experience, as well as achievements and awards.
- Pursuant to Florida Statute, your application requires the inclusion of all post-high school education and employment, as well as information about ongoing international affiliations and research funding. Please ensure this information is included on your curriculum vitae (CV) or résumé.

Application Instructions
- Visit UF Graduate School Application Portal
Go to the official application portal. - Start Your Application
Click on the option to begin a new application. - Select Application Type
In the section titled “Application Information and Location of Intended Program” choose: Distance Education (Online) - Choose Your Program of Study
On the next page, under “Programs of Study,” select College of Health and Human Performance. Then choose Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management. - Select the Term
Choose the term (e.g., Fall, Spring, or Summer A/C) that you wish to apply for. - Application Fee Waiver
When you come to the Acknowledgement page, enter THEMMasters in the Administrative Use Code Box to apply your fee waiver. Do not click the CODE button, which is used for a purpose other than the fee waiver. - Complete the Application
Follow the prompts to fill in all required information and upload necessary documents. - Review and Submit
Double-check all details for accuracy, then submit your application.
- Applicants typically receive an admissions decision—accepted or denied—via email within two weeks of submitting a completed application.
- Admitted students will receive further instructions regarding orientation, how to register for courses, and where to obtain textbooks and other materials.
